A free orthopedic health camp was organized on Sunday, August 23, 2026, by Varun Arjun University, Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur, through its Rural Health Training Centre located opposite Police Station Nakhasa, Miranpur Katra, Shahjahanpur. During the camp, patients received free orthopedic consultations and medical examinations. Free blood pressure and blood sugar tests were also conducted. Medicines and medical advice were provided free of cost to all patients, while discount coupons for various diagnostic tests, CT scans and MRI examinations were distributed.
The Medical PRO of the Medical College stated that such free health camps will be organized every second Sunday so that people from all sections of society can continue to receive accessible medical care.
The orthopedic department provides treatment for arthritis, joint pain, back pain, sciatica, weakness and numbness of the legs, tingling sensations, neck and spinal pain, congenital deformities of the hands and legs, bone infections, bone tuberculosis, and cases involving pus discharge from infected bones. Facilities are also available for knee and hip replacement, plaster and surgical treatment of all types of fractures, operations and ICU care at affordable rates.
Information about the Family Health Card was also provided. The card costs ₹200 and remains valid for one year. Cardholders can receive a free OPD registration slip, 20% discount on medicines and investigations, and a free admission file along with a 20% discount on medicines during hospitalization.
Orthopedic specialist Dr. Shashwani Dixit, along with her medical team, paramedical staff and Medical College Medical Social Worker Jitendra Gangwar, was present at the camp.
