On the occasion of National Nutrition Week, the Department of Community Medicine, Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur, organized a Cooking Competition and Nutrition Awareness Programme. The primary objective of the programme was to promote awareness regarding nutritious, balanced, and healthy food choices and to encourage the adoption of healthy dietary practices in daily life.
The programme was successfully organized under the guidance and direction of the Principal, Dr. R.N. Shukla. His guidance and support contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the programme and the promotion of nutrition awareness among students, interns, and the community.
During the cooking competition, participants prepared a variety of nutritious and healthy dishes, demonstrating their creativity and culinary skills. Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Dr. Kiran Agrawal graced the occasion as the Chief Guests. They encouraged the participants and highlighted the importance of a balanced diet, adequate nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle.
As part of National Nutrition Week, Nutrition Awareness Programmes were also conducted at RHTC and UHTC. Patients and community members were educated about balanced diets, appropriate nutrition, hygienic and safe food practices, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They were encouraged to incorporate nutritious foods into their daily diet and adopt healthy eating habits.
The programme was organized by the Department of Community Medicine under the guidance of Dr. Dharmendra Gupta, Head of the Department. Dr. Intekab Alam, Dr. Aditya, Dr. Vinayak, and Dr. Yogesh provided valuable support in the organization and conduct of the programme.
Medical college students, interns, and members of the department participated enthusiastically in the programme. Through these activities, the message of “Right Nutrition, Healthy Life” was conveyed, with a commitment to further strengthen awareness regarding nutrition and healthy dietary practices in the community.
