Awareness rally on the occasion of Indian National Organ Donation Day

Varun Arjun University, Shahjahanpur organized a highly inspiring and sensitive awareness rally on the occasion of Indian National Organ Donation Day. The event was a reflection of the university’s deep commitment to social responsibility and medical care. The rally was aimed not only at highlighting the scientific aspects of organ donation but also to promote awareness and positive thinking among the general public. The main focus of the event was Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital campus, where the rally formally began with the chief guest and Dean and Principal of the Medical College, Dr. (Colonel) Ravindranath Shukla gave the green signal for the rally.


Speaking on the occasion, Vice Principal Dr. Santhanakrishnan, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta, Head of Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Avinash R. Lukade and several senior faculty members were present. A large number of medical and nursing students, medical staff and other health workers from all faculties of the university participated enthusiastically in the rally.


Ravindranath Shukla in his address said that organ donation is the highest form of service. He said that the organs of a deceased person can save the lives of more than eight people. Vice-Principal, Dr. Santhanakrishnan described organ donation as not just a medical procedure, but a human and cultural tradition. He said that the donation of important organs such as the eye, can contribute greatly to social well being of the recipient.


The event at Varun Arjun University was not just an initiative; it was a powerful reflection of a broader, national movement. The institute’s efforts were deeply inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and tireless efforts, working towards giving organ donation the status of a national movement.


The Chancellor of Varun Arjun University, Dr. Keshav Agarwal, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal and Vice Chancellor Dr. Kiran Agarwal appreciated this effort and described it as an excellent example of the university’s social responsibility. The university administration announced that regular workshops, poster competitions, and dialogue sessions for organ donation awareness would be held in the coming months.
