Day11: SWASTH NARI, SASHAKT PARIVAR ABHIYAN: Eat Right Campaign

Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital, operating under Varun Arjun University, Shahjahanpur, successfully organized the 11th day programe “Eat Right Campaign” on September 27, 2025. This event marked the eleventh day of the “Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivaar Abhiyan – 2025.”
The program, led by the Department of Community Medicine, aimed to educate local residents, patients, staff, and students on the critical role of healthy, balanced nutrition and the risks associated with junk food.
Principal and Dean Dr. (Col.) Ravindra Nath Shukla emphasized that lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart ailments are rapidly increasing due to unbalanced diets. He urged the audience to incorporate adequate amounts of green vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy into their meals, along with regular exercise.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Pandit Shyama Rao Pawar stressed that correct and clean eating habits form the foundation of good health, advising the youth to avoid fast food and cold drinks to ensure a healthy future for the nation.
Dr. Dharmendra Gupta, Head of Community Medicine, highlighted the dual challenge of over-nutrition and malnutrition in India, stating the campaign’s objective is to translate nutritional knowledge into practical behaviour. Students actively participated through posters and street plays, advocating the message: “You are what you eat.”
The university management praised the initiative for its historic role in promoting community health awareness, committing to continue such programs to build a healthier and stronger society.
