The Department of Community Medicine, Varun Arjun Medical College, Banthara–Shahjahanpur, organized a free student health camp

The Department of Community Medicine, Varun Arjun Medical College, Banthara–Shahjahanpur, organized a free student health camp on 8th September 2025 at Ram Murari Public School, Meeranpur (Katra), Shahjahanpur. 

Held under the guidance of Prof. & Head Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta, the camp ran from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and saw enthusiastic participation of students. The main aim was to identify children’s health problems, provide timely treatment, and spread awareness on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care. Specialists from different departments extended services: from Community Medicine, Dr. Intekhab Alam, Dr. Aditya Prakash Singh, and Dr. Raghav conducted general check-ups; Pediatrician Dr. Chirag Kundu examined growth and childhood illnesses; Ophthalmologist Dr. Swapnil performed eye check-ups; and Dentist Dr. Saurabh Mukherjee addressed oral health. Medicines were provided where required along with personal health counseling. Nursing staff, MSW team, and interns contributed actively. 

The interns played a vital role in registrations, assisting doctors, maintaining records, distributing medicines, and guiding students on hygiene and nutrition, gaining valuable hands-on experience in community service. Health education sessions on cleanliness, balanced diet, and preventive eye and dental care motivated children to adopt healthy habits. The initiative was highly appreciated by school management, students, and parents.
