In accordance with National Educational Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), to enhance the social responsibility and community engagement amongst the students , Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur organized a free health camp on 09 September 2025 (Tuesday) at village Joura Bhud, Madanapur. A total of 574 patients registered; among them, 10 were diagnosed with cataract whose surgeries will be done free of cost at the hospital.
In the camp, 69 patients received free blood sugar tests, 89 had blood pressure checked, and 455 patients were given free medicines. Discount coupons for MRI, CT Scan, and other investigations were also distributed. The health team and PRO Atul Kumar Gangwar created awareness about regular check-ups and explained the Family Health Card (₹200, valid for 1 year), which offers free OPD registration, 20% discount on medicines and investigations, 25% on general surgeries, 10% on blood, free admission file, bed, nursing care, and consultation, with 24×7 affordable facilities for ICU, ventilator, dialysis, MRI, CT Scan, ultrasound, and more.
Special contribution came from Shankarlal (Pradhan) and Vinay Dwivedi (Social Worker). The camp was supported by specialist doctors from General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Dentistry, and Obstetrics & Gynecology—Dr. Ajay, Dr. Shubhangi, Dr. David, Dr. Bindu, Dr. Pooja Bhalla—along with paramedical staff. Importantly, postgraduate students also took an active role in connecting with the community and assisting patients, making the camp a success.
