Varun Arjun University, through its Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Committee in coordination with NEP SAARTHIs, is organizing a series of academic and experiential activities under the theme “Connecting with Traditional Practices.” The initiative aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to revive India’s intellectual and cultural heritage by integrating traditional knowledge systems into contemporary higher education.
A Traditional Food Exhibition will be organized on 24th February 2026 from 9:00 AM onwards, showcasing the cultural, nutritional, and medicinal significance of indigenous food traditions, with emphasis on holistic health and sustainable dietary practices. An Indian Knowledge System E-Poster Competition – Student Series will also be conducted at Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital during the last week of February 2026, encouraging students to connect discipline-specific traditional practices with modern scientific and clinical perspectives.
A Guest Lecture by the Honourable Pro-Chancellor of VAU, Dr. Ashok Agarwal, is scheduled on 24th February 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, focusing on the contemporary relevance of traditional practices.
The events are coordinated by Dr. Pradeep Singh, IKS Cell Incharge and Principal of Varun Arjun College of Pharmacy, along with IKS members and NEP SAARTHI students. The initiative is conducted under the leadership of Dr. Keshav Agarwal (Chancellor, VAU), Dr. Ashok Agarwal (Pro-Chancellor, VAU), Dr. Kiran Agarwal (Vice-Chancellor, VAU), and Dr. Lata Agarwal (Vice-Chancellor, BIU), who appreciated the coordinated efforts of the IKS Committee and NEP SAARTHIs, reaffirming their commitment to experiential learning, interdisciplinary engagement, and value-based education. Academic support has been extended by Dr. (Col) R. N. Shukla, Dean & Principal of VAMC & RH, who also appreciated the initiative.
