On 30th August 2025 (Saturday), a Legal Literacy and Awareness Camp on “Solid Waste Management Policy 2016” was organized at Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Shahjahanpur, under the aegis of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Shahjahanpur, in compliance with the directions of the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow and under the guidance of Hon’ble District Judge/Chairman, DLSA Shahjahanpur, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Sharma.
The session was presided over by LADCS Chief Mr. Dinesh Kumar Mishra, who emphasized the importance of proper waste treatment and management to protect the environment. He also sensitized participants on domestic waste management practices.
Naib Tehsildar (Sadar) Ms. Nivedita Thakur shared information on various welfare schemes at the tehsil level. LADCS Assistant Mr. Vivek Sharma stressed plantation in industrial areas and explained the Waste Management Rules, 2016. Mr. P.C. Kannaujia from the Pollution Control Board, Bareilly, provided insights on solid waste, plastic waste, battery waste, e-waste, and other categories. Mr. Saif, representative of Shahjahanpur Municipal Corporation, explained measures to control pollution and informed about door-to-door garbage collection initiatives, urging public cooperation for cleanliness.
The program concluded with an address of gratitude by Dean & Principal, Dr. (Col.) R.N. Shukla, who thanked all dignitaries and participants.
