On Sunday, September 6, 2026, a free health camp was organized by Varun Arjun University and Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur, at the Rural Health Training Centre located near the police station in front of Nakhase, Miranpur Katra.
A total of 130 patients registered at the camp. Among them, four patients were selected for cataract surgery, which will be performed free of cost at Rohilkhand Hospital. Around 70 patients underwent free blood sugar testing, while approximately 90 patients received free blood pressure checks. Free medicines were distributed to 118 patients, along with eye drops.
During the camp, doctors educated people about the importance of regular eye examinations and informed them about the facilities available in the Ophthalmology Department of the hospital. These include screening and treatment for glaucoma, corneal diseases, and retinal disorders; cataract surgery through both conventional incision and phacoemulsification techniques; and treatment and surgical facilities for squint, dacryocystitis, pterygium, and other eye conditions. Computerized eye testing, spectacle power assessment, and verification facilities are also available at affordable rates.
The doctors also informed attendees that a Family Health Card is available at Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital for only ₹200, and it remains valid for one year.
The camp was attended by Dr. Chinmay Patel from the Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Apurva Bose from the Department of General Medicine, Dr. Lovepreet from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Avantika from the Department of Dentistry, along with an ophthalmic technician, paramedical staff, and Medical Social Worker Jitendra Gangwar.
