Mission Shakti 5.0: Varun Arjun University Hosts Successful Health Check-up Camp

Under the umbrella of the Uttar Pradesh government’s ‘Mission Shakti – Phase 5.0,‘ Varun Arjun University successfully organised a significant ‘Health Check-up Camp‘ for its students on October 8, 2025. This initiative, dedicated to women’s safety, dignity, and self-reliance, highlighted the crucial link between health and empowerment. A total of 195 students (125 girls and 70 boys) received comprehensive health screenings, including general check-ups, blood pressure and haemoglobin level assessments, and nutritional advice, provided by dedicated teams. The high turnout of female students specifically underscored the mission’s focus on women’s health. The camp was supported and attended by numerous key staff, who stressed the importance of proactive health management:
  • Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Lekh Raj Verma noted that this phase of Mission Shakti focuses on “strengthening our youth from within.”
  • Duty Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Pal stressed the necessity of such preventative health camps.
  • Dr. (Col.) Ravindra Nath Shukla, Principal/Dean of Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, emphasised that “a healthy mind resides only in a healthy body.”
  • Dr. Pradeep Singh, Principal of Varun Arjun College of Pharmacy, highlighted the importance of medicinal awareness and healthy lifestyle models.
  • Shri Deepak Pachauri, Vice-Principal of Varun Arjun College of Nursing, praised the nursing staff’s critical role and the high female participation.
  • Dr. Neha Gupta, Vice-Principal of Paramedical Faculty, underscored the value of early detection through paramedical checks.
  • Other faculty members present included Miss Ishika.The program’s success was further cemented by the commitment of the nodal officer. Mission Shakti Phase 5.0 Nodal Officer Dr. Shivani Gupta stated,
“This Health Check-up Camp demonstrates Mission Shakti’s commitment to moving beyond just security and awareness. It equally focuses on health and nutritional security for both girls and boys. An empowered citizen—especially a woman—can only emerge when physically capable. We have paid special attention to the health of our female students so they can pursue education without hindrance and contribute to national development.” The university’s senior management, including Chancellor Dr. Keshav Kumar Agrawal, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal, and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kiran Agarwal, commended the efforts, reaffirming the university’s dedication to the holistic development of its students. This event is a critical step in ensuring students have a healthy and confident future, enabling them to become empowered and valuable citizens.
