Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, under Varun Arjun University, Shahjahanpur, successfully organized a comprehensive hands-on medical skills training workshop under VAMSCON 2026 on 12th April 2026.
The workshop was designed to enhance practical competencies among medical students by providing real-time, skill-based training across major clinical disciplines, including General Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, and ENT. Notably, the workshop was accredited with 3 credit hours by the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council.
More than 50 participants from various medical colleges across the state attended the workshop, actively engaging in over 100 hands-on training sessions. The program emphasized experiential learning, enabling participants to practice procedures under expert supervision and build confidence in their clinical skills.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of senior faculty and medical experts from multiple specialties, ensuring high-quality and interactive learning. A notable highlight of the event was the involvement of more than 30 trained medical students who served as resource persons, guiding delegates through hands-on training sessions. The initiative was widely appreciated for effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical application.

- Dr. Arushi Saxena, Dr. Satyen Verma, Dr. Swati Deswal, and Dr. Prachi from the Department of Anaesthesia
- Dr. Himani Singh, Dr. Deepti Rani Chauhan, Dr. Stuti Singh, and Dr. Kritika Agarwal from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology
Outstanding participants were recognized and awarded for their performance. Faculty members and dignitaries described the workshop as a significant step toward advancing competency-based medical education.
The chief guests, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dean and Principal of Autonomous State Medical College, Shahjahanpur, and Dr. Javin Bishnu Gogoi, Principal, ASMC Hardoi, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such innovative training programs.
The event received strong support and encouragement from the university leadership and management, including Dr. Keshav Agarwal, Chancellor, Varun Arjun University; Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Pro-Chancellor; Dr. Lata Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, BIU; and Dr. Kiran Agarwal, Vice-Chancellor, Varun Arjun University. Renowned oncosurgeon from Bareilly, Dr. Arjun Agarwal, also appreciated the initiative.
Dean & Principal of VAMC, Dr. R. N. Shukla, encouraged the students and commended their enthusiastic participation and cultural involvement. Medical Superintendent Dr. P. S. Powar and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Amit Kumar Singh also extended their support and appreciation. Deputy Registrar of Varun Arjun University, Dr. Anil Kumar Pal, along with administrative officers Mr. Lalit Singh Chauhan and Mr. Siddhant Gangwar, contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The Organizing Chairperson of the workshop was Dr. Santhana Krishnan, with Dr. Poornima S. Bhat serving as Co-Chairperson. Mr. Yash Munjwani was the Organizing Secretary, supported by Organizing Co-secretaries Mr. Krishna Gupta and Mr. Vipul Saini. Mr. Ashish Pandey served as the Organizing Treasurer. The entire team remains committed to continuing skill-based training initiatives in the future.
VAMSCON 2026 proved to be a dynamic platform for academic excellence and skill development, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to quality medical education and hands-on training.
