Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Shahjahanpur, hosted a grand Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Workshop on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) on April 29, 2026. The event symbolized a new chapter in advancing ethics, quality, and modern standards in medical research.
The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a welcome address from Dr. (Col.) R.N. Shukla, Principal and Dean, who emphasized that GCP forms the foundation of trustworthy and socially relevant research.
A keynote lecture by Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal highlighted the importance of ethical hospital practices. He stressed that hospitals are recognized not merely by their infrastructure but by the ethical and scientific standards they uphold. He explained that adherence to GCP ensures patient safety, transparency, and strengthens both medical education and research.

– Dr. Atul Saxena – Record Keeping and Data Handling
The event was graced by the presence of university dignitaries including Dr. Keshav Agarwal (Chancellor, VAU), Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal (Pro-Chancellor, VAU), Dr. Kiran Agarwal (Vice Chancellor, VAU), and Dr. Lata Agarwal (Vice Chancellor, BIU). The program was chaired by Dr. R.N. Shukla and Dr. P.S. Pawar, with Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta serving as Organizing Secretary and Dr. Shivani Gupta as Managing Secretary.
Coordinators included Dr. Ajay Agarwal, Dr. Intekhab Alam, and Dr. Purva Shoor, supported by a dedicated organizing committee of faculty members and students.
A special highlight was the active participation of faculty, MBBS, and PG students, whose enthusiasm and cooperation made the CME a collective learning platform. Adding a cultural dimension.
The day-long program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta, acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, speakers, organizers, and participants.
