Varun Arjun University and Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur, organized a free health camp on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Chandapur village of Bhawal Khera area.
A total of 586 patients registered at the camp and received free medical consultation and health check-ups. During the camp, cataracts were detected in 15 patients. Their cataract surgeries will be performed free of cost at Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra. Free blood sugar tests were conducted for 126 patients, while approximately 250 patients underwent free blood pressure screening. Medicines and eye drops were distributed free of cost to 497 patients. Discount coupons for MRI, CT scans and other diagnostic investigations were also distributed to needy patients.
The medical team along with PRO staff educated villagers about the importance of regular health check-ups and preventive healthcare. They also informed villagers about the hospital’s Family Health Card, available for ₹200 and valid for one year. Cardholders receive a free OPD registration slip, an additional 20% discount on medicines and diagnostic tests, and a free admission file. The card also provides a 25% discount on general surgeries and a 10% discount where blood transfusion is required.
The hospital provides free admission, beds, nursing care and medical consultation. It also offers affordable 24-hour facilities including ICU, ventilator, dialysis, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, surgeries and medicines at subsidized rates.
The camp received special support from social workers Gayadeen Verma and Ajay Kumar Verma, along with Dr. Himanshu Verma. Specialist doctors from various departments and hospital PROs Vipin Sharma and Atul Gangwar, along with paramedical staff, actively participated and made the camp successful.
