Mission Shakti Phase 5.0: Raising Awareness, Ensuring Safety, and Empowering Women

Varun Arjun University, Banthra-Shahjahanpur, organized the “Mission Shakti – Phase 5.0” program on October 6, 2025, with great enthusiasm. The primary objective of the event was to empower women, raise awareness about their rights, and ensure their safety and equality in society.

Key Highlights:

  • Special Women Help Desk: A dedicated “Women Help Desk” was established on the university campus, managed by Miss Kumkum Rathore, to provide guidance and direct assistance to women regarding their health, legal rights, and safety.
  • Awareness Rally: An awareness rally was held on the main routes of the campus, featuring students from various colleges (including Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedical, Commerce & Management, and Forensic Sciences). Students actively participated, using banners, posters, and slogans to emphasize the importance of women’s rights, safety, and contribution to society.
  • Inauguration and Speeches:
  • Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Lekh Raj Verma stated that “Mission Shakti – Phase 5.0” reflects the university’s commitment to women’s rights, security, and social empowerment, urging women to be alert about their health and safety.
  • Deputy Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Pal stressed the necessity of educating women about their rights in education, health, and law, and praised the initiative of providing direct assistance through the Women Help Desk.
  • Dr. Shivani Gupta (who conducted the program) and Prof. Dr. Poornima S. Bhat (ENT Department) emphasized that the program aimed not just to raise awareness but also to provide direct support and guidance.
  • Student Presentations: Students from various departments used skits, slogans, and presentations to highlight women’s rights, education, health, and societal contributions. Forensic Sciences faculty and students focused on crime prevention and legal safeguards for women.
  • Closing Statement: The senior management (Chancellor Dr. Keshav Kumar Agarwal, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal, and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kiran Agarwal) issued a joint statement, asserting that

“Empowered Woman, Empowered Society” is the university’s priority, and praised the Women Help Desk and the active participation of students and faculty.
The program successfully established a significant milestone in women’s empowerment, safety, and awareness, underscoring the university’s role not just as an educational center but also as a vehicle for positive social change and fulfilling social responsibilities.
